John Applegate, MD
Dr. Applegate is a board certified psychiatrist. He majored in Psychology and East Asian Studies at Bucknell University. He received his M.D. from the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and completed his residency training in Psychiatry at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he continues to teach residents and medical students.
He has been in private practice and working at the hospital since graduating in 2005. He has also spent several years working in a local university counseling center.
Dr. Applegate’s areas of interest and experience include, but are not limited to: anxiety, mood, attention deficit, psychotic, sleep, and personality disorders.
Teji Wang, MSN, CRNP, PMHNP-BC
NP Wang is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. She received her MSN from the University of Pennsylvania, where she majored in Nursing and minored in Nutrition and Japanese during her undergraduate years. Teji is a firm believer of integrative care, where an interdisciplinary evidence-based approach combining psychopharmacology and therapy is utilized to provide individuals with person-centered care. As a third-culture individual who grew up in the Middle East and is ethnically Chinese, she appreciates the diverse narratives each person is shaped by and aims to nurture trauma-informed brave spaces that empower individuals to form collaborative therapeutic alliances.
Teji’s areas of interest and experience include, but are not limited to: depression, bipolar, anxiety, attention deficit, psychotic disorders, sleep, and personality disorders.
Lois Woodside, MSN, AGCNP-BC, PMHNP-BC
Lois is an adult gerontology primary care board-certified NP as well as a psychiatric mental health NP. She holds a masters degree in nursing from the University of Pennsylvania and is board certified as a nurse practitioner in both psychiatric mental health and adult-gerontology primary care. She has a diverse background that includes experience with outpatient substance use treatment and chronic pain. She has served medically complex populations including veterans and geriatric clients for close to a decade and is committed to providing patient-centered, evidence-based care.
David Goneau, LPC, MA
David received his Master of Arts in Counseling from Biblical Theological Seminary. In 2001, he received his MDiv from Westminster Theological Seminary. David also holds a BA degree in sports medicine from Messiah University.
David provides individual and couples therapy, and enjoys working with a variety of individuals with a range of mental health challenges. David is EMDRIA certified to provide EMDR therapy. He is also pursuing a certification in play therapy.
In addition, David serves as our neuromodulation technician, providing education and clinical care for clients completing TMS and tDCS interventions.
Ileana Johnson, RN
Ileana is a Registered Nurse with over 10 years of healthcare experience, including more than six years specializing in interventional treatments. Throughout her career, she has developed strong clinical skills with a particular focus on advanced IV access and infusion-based therapies, ensuring patients receive safe, efficient, and comfortable care. She takes pride in creating a supportive and reassuring environment for patients, especially those who may feel anxious about procedures or treatments. Her passion lies in delivering compassionate, patient-centered care while working collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure each individual feels heard, respected, and well cared for throughout their treatment experience.
Kristina Kim
Krissy has worked alongside Dr. Applegate for more than a decade, bringing extensive experience in supporting individuals throughout their mental health journeys. She is highly skilled in care coordination, patient advocacy, and interdisciplinary collaboration, serving as a central point of contact to ensure each patient receives personalized and seamless care. With a strong understanding of evidence-based treatments—including TMS, ketamine therapy, and psychotherapy—Krissy is dedicated to creating a supportive environment where patients feel heard, informed, and empowered every step of the way.
Arlene Kwon
Arlene has been a valued member of the IPOP team for over three years, often serving as the first friendly voice patients hear and a steady source of support throughout their care. Passionate about mental health and whole-person wellness, she helps guide individuals and families through every step—from intake to ongoing treatment—with empathy, clarity, and respect. Arlene believes that healing begins with feeling understood, and she is committed to creating a welcoming, judgment-free experience for every patient.
